What is Somatic Coaching?
From the Somatic School website, we learn: “Coaching is partnering in a co-creative process of enquiry in service to the potential which is seeking to emerge in the life of the client.” Specific modalities include:
practicing presence and self-awareness
connecting with your feelings and sensations
developing a curious mindset about your bodymind continuum
regulating your nervous system
crafting your somatic practice
Flo puts it this way: “Together, we gain perspective on what is misaligned and generate possibilities for shift, growth, and understanding.”
somatic
[soh-mat-ik, suh-]/ soʊˈmæt ɪk, sə- /
adjective
of the body; bodily; physical.

Somatic coaches help their clients tune into their bodies and minds as a single, unified system, rather than as separate entities. This approach allows the creeks in the neck, the rumblings in the belly, and the tears of joy and sorrow to inform the process that coach and coachee engage in together.
